Fall (4 credits), Spring (4 credits). Discussion and study of the intervention and assessment techniques for children and adults with hearing loss to further develop their speech and language abilities, cochlear implants, hearing aids, and the efficacy of these technologies in communication, Deaf culture, auditory processing disorders, genetics of hearing loss and review of audiology concepts. Meets state audiometrist certification requirement. Prerequisite: CDIS 205 and 412 or equivalent.
