Spring (3 credits). Quantum chemistry and statistical thermodynamics applied to the study of the physical and chemical properties of matter. Four hours lecture and discussion. Chemistry majors and minors should take CHEM 333 concurrently. Chemistry majors with a strong interest in chemical physics may substitute PHYS 341-342 for CHEM 331 and 333. Prerequisites: CHEM 132, MATH 122, and PHYS 232 (or 221).
