Fall (4 credits) or Spring (4 credits). Examines the evolution of economic and political reforms beginning with the rise of Deng Xiaoping in 1976. Hong Kong's integration, relationship with Taiwan, rise of Shanghai, State Owned Enterprises, and foreign direct investment are considered in the context of foreign corporations conducting business in China. Prerequisites: junior standing or permission. NU and EV only.
