Fall (4 credits) or May Term (3 credits). Studies alternative methods of resolving disputes, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Resolving disputes through the courts is costly and time consuming. Organizations often view these non-judicial methods as better paths. The course includes training to be an advocate or mediator and simulations. Prerequisite: junior standing or permission. NU and EV only.
