Examines commercial, cultural, intellectual, and scientific exchanges and their long-term impact on both societies. Pays special attention to the theme of conflict, with particular emphasis on the Crusades, their impact and legacy. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or History 111 or 313 or permission of instructor.
