The study of administrating an instrumental music program, elementary (beginning band or orchestra) through high school. Includes recruitment, method book selection, scheduling, budgeting, rehearsal procedures, and program building with an educational emphasis and selection of materials. This is the capstone course for music education majors with instrumental emphasis. Includes field component. A current TB test and fingerprint-based background check must be on file in the School of Education prior to beginning the field component associated with this course. Verification of completion of field component is required for education candidates to pass this course. Prerequisites: MUE 249X and MUE 331, admission to the School of Education (Gate 1), and admission to Field Experience (Gate 2). Offered spring semester in even-numbered years. Three hours.
