Study of and experience in teaching language arts and literature in secondary and middle school. Emphasis on curriculum development, teaching strategies, and instructional planning. Includes twelve clock hours of evaluated field experience. Limited to English/Secondary majors. A current TB test and fingerprint-based background check must be on file in the School of Education prior to beginning the field component associated with this course. Verification of completion of field component is required for education candidates to pass this course. Prerequisites: ED 360 or concurrent registration and admission to the School of Education (Gate 1). Offered fall semester. Two hours.
