A multidisiplinary investigation of glabal health emphasizing a critical evaluation of its current status and prospects in several under-resourced countries. The course will focus on ways in which culture, economics, philosophy, science and political policies influence population health, especially as these are evidenced in nutrition; epidemiology and infectious disease; maternal/child health; and chronic diseases that result from population trends such as obesity and smoking.
