An experimental course which assists students in developing awareness and ease of movement. Based in Hatha Yoga, Mind Body Centering, and Alexander Technique, students will develop increased awareness and enjoyment of movement and of their bodies in movement. This is primarily a hands-on course, with a signification portion of self-reflective activities such as journaling and observation outside of class. We will explore asana, breath, alignment, and meditation techniques to relax and maintain ease and comfort in our bodies, whether preparing for work on the stage, in the gym, or in the classroom. Students will begin investigating way of taking this awareness and ease into relationship with each other in group movement.
