Designed to introduce the prospective teacher to the principles, methods, and materials of teaching mathematics in the elementary school. The major components of curriculum planning and implementation will be presented. The format of the course includes lecture, discussion, demonstration lessons, in-class presentations and use of mathematics materials, and participation in field observation experiences (Prerequisite: MTH1231).
