Prerequisite: 6 credit hours in sociology or anthropology, junior standing, and consent of department chair and instructor By special arrangement This course is designed to provide students with an intensive research experience. Students will work in small groups with a faculty member, in some cases one-on-one. Each student will have the opportunity to develop research through a number of means that may include: compiling material, using social science databases, conducting legal research, interviewing, transcribing interviews, reviewing and summarizing texts; assisting in the development of analysis; leading discussions on research-related material; and editing research. Students have the opportunity to write an academic paper drawing from original research material and also to present their work in a collegial environment.
