Prerequisite: Senior standing and consent of department faculty. At least 30 hours in the major, including Advanced Calculus (Math 301), must be completed with grades of C or better prior to enrolling in senior seminar. At least 6 of these hours must have been taken at SXU. Math Education majors do not need Math 301 but must have at least 6 hours of Math Education courses included in the 30 hour requirement. Offered every semester The purpose of the senior seminar is to provide a culminating experience in mathematics for mathematics and mathematics education majors. The student will conduct research on an advanced topic with guidance from a faculty mentor, prepare a paper, and give a presentation based on the research to faculty and students of the department. The student is expected to attend all presentations given during the semester.
