Prerequisite: ENGL 102 or equivalent An historical survey of art from the prehistoric through Gothic periods. Attention is concentrated on the painting, sculpture and architecture of the West, but the arts of non-Western cultures are also introduced. Slide-illustrated lectures are supplemented with field trips to the Oriental Institute and The Field Museum.
