This course is an introduction to the statistics used in business. Topics covered are sources and collection of business data, describing data, probability concepts, the use of confidence limits to estimate the mean or the proportion, the use of hypothesis tests, analysis of variance, chi-square test for independence, simple correlation and regression analysis to discover how two variables are related to each other. The use of a business spreadsheet program is an integral part of this hands-on course. Prerequisite: MATH A115.
