Study of the historical movements of Western thought that have shaped contemporary educational theory and practice in the United States. Includes analysis of the underlying philosophical themes revealed in the current structure and content of primary, middle level, and secondary education. Students develop competency in analyzing, developing, and composing a personal philosophy of education. Required of all students who wish to be admitted into the Education Program. Testing fees may be involved if the student does not already have passing scores in required entrance exam(s). Corequisite or Prerequisite: EDUC 1103.
