An introduction to education in American society through an analysis of some of the most pressing issues in the field, their historical and philosophical underpinnings, and implications. A ten hour field experience is required. This is normally the first course in the teacher education program. Students who do not have a minimum ACT Composite Score of 21 should take and earn a passing score on the PPST while enrolled in this course. Fall & Spring
