An extended period of continuous full-time professional activities with a given group of learners with increasing responsible experiences in all aspects of the teacher's work. It is focused on the analytical approach to the development of teaching skills and takes place in the public or private school setting under supervision of school and college personnel. The initial secondary certification requires twelve semester hours credit. Prerequisites: Admission to student teaching; see Handbook on Teacher Education and Certification.
