A course designed to educate students in the scientific and applied aspects of nutrition. Students will gain scientific information which will enhance their ability to apply these principles in any educational, school or community setting. Students will learn the importance of nutrition in its relationship to disease, different needs throughout the life cycle and food safety implications. Finally, students will be exposed to and be able to discuss current research as it relates to nutritional concepts. Satisfies the Science and Math core requirement. (Cr: 3)
