Allows the student/playwright the opportunity to develop a clear, specific voice as a writer. To accomplish this, the student will begin by writing one-act plays with the guidance and encouragement of the instructor and peers. Students will learn playwriting by writing and hearing their plays and other plays and by rewriting to clarify plot, conflict, characters, themes, action, theatricality, believability, and actability. Satisfies the Arts and Humanities and Writing Designated core requirements. (Cr: 3)
