A survey of Earth's surface processes, the course examines the causes, locations, and effects of natural and man-made hazards through scientific inquiry and investigation. A focus on mitigation strategies is an important component of this course. Understanding natural hazards as natural processes fosters civic literacy locally, nationally, and globally.
