A survey of the arts of indigenous people of North America, this course will cover prehistoric (pre-Columbus) artifacts, through late 20th century art currently in production. Special attention will be given to the anthropological context of art and artifacts, as well as their materials, function and meaning. Satisfies the Arts and Humanities core requirements. Prerequisites & Notes ART 101, ART 102, or AMS 101, or permission of instructor. Crosslisted with AMS 329. (Cr: 3)
