Description: This course surveys significant writings in Eastern and Western tradition, from ancient Babylonian civilization to the English Restoration. Selected texts depend on instructor and student interest and may include Gilgamesh, Greco-Roman mythology, Homer's Odyssey, the Old and New Testaments, Indian epic, Dante's Divine Comedy and Japanese haiku.
