Description: Students prepare a multinational capital budget, addressing such issues such as foreign subsidiary financing, blocked funds and uncertain salvage values. The factors affecting exchange rates are discussed, as well as different types of exchange rate systems and how governments attempt to influence exchange rates. The relationships among interest rate parity, purchasing power parity, the Fisher effect and International Fisher effect and exchange rates are analyzed. Students learn how currency futures, currency options and money market hedges are used to hedge exchange rate risk. Prerequisites: BA362 Credit Hours: 3 CR.HR.
