Description: This course teaches basic electrical theory as it applies to DC and AC circuits and equipment found in typical marine applications. Theory, maintenance, troubleshooting and field repairs for components (batteries, starters, alternators, etc) from the battery through to the main distribution panel are covered. Heavy emphasis will be placed on mastering the multimeter as a diagnostic tool in troubleshooting electrical problems. Prerequisites: Credit Hours: 3 CR.HR.
