This course uses gender as the main category of analysis. Students explore the impact of gender conventions on the psychological and social dimensions of womanhood by focusing on the detailed textual analysis of novels, plays, short stories, and poems. Authors may include Rosa Montero, Cristina Fernández Cubas, Esther Tusquets, Consuelo García, Carmen Gómez Ojea, and Soledad Puértolas. Prerequsisite(s): one 200-level Spanish literature course.
