An introduction to dance as a cultural, contextual, creative and disciplined art form through the lens of gender and ethnic studies. Topics include the use of contemporary theatrical dance as a platform for social commentary, and the impact of gender and ethnicity on choreographic and performance identities as well as teaching practices.
