Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing, or permission of instructor. An introduction to current management theory and practice. Traditional managerial functions such as planning, organizing and controlling are studied and contrasted with newer cross-functional approaches. The course emphasis is on the building blocks of management so that these principles can be applied to a variety of organizations including educational, business and not-for-profit institutions.
