Prerequisite: A&S 105 or permission of instructor. (Anthropology) Investigates the development of our species and the nature of biological variation within the human species. Examines such topics as evolutionary theory, the fossil evidence for human evolution, primate behavioral studies, the use of primates in research on human language use, human genetics, the relationship between environmental and physical appearance, the links between humans and disease, and the use of skeletal remains to learn about past and present populations and to solve crimes.
