This course introduces the student to western philosophy by exploring some of its major themes from the 19th and 20th centuries. Topics typically covered include the nature of the self and subjectivity; knowledge; language, meaning, and mind; morality and society; and the future of philosophy. The course aims to improve the student's capacity for critical reading, writing and thinking. Prerequisite: completion of any required non-degree credit courses. (3 Credits)
