This is an advanced course exploring eukaryotic microbial diversity. An evolutionary perspective is used to survey the cellular diversity and ecology of algae, protozoa, and selected fungi, and the origin of eukaryotic cells. Labs include living and preserved materials, field collecting, culturing, and data analysis. Elective course for majors. Prerequisite: completion of biology core courses. Co-requisite: BIOL A353.
