This course will deal with the planning and implementation of instruction in the non-performance-based music class from kindergarten to the senior high school levels. Students will examine curriculum, textbooks and teaching materials available for these classes. The National Standards for Arts Education receive special attention in relation to planning a spiral curriculum. A strong emphasis is placed on unit and lesson planning. The course is required for all Music Teaching Majors. (Offered even falls. Prerequisites: music reading ability, MUS120 and/or consent of instructor.)
