Description: This course is designed to expose students to the interplay among biological, cognitive and social factors in children's development and examine its multiple determination. Basic research, theoretical models and applications of knowledge in areas such as prenatal environment, heredity and environment, sensation, perception and learning, emotional development, language and communications, intelligence, family, peers, morality, altruism, aggression, gender roles and differences, and technology and television are examined. Prerequisites: PY241 Credit Hours: 3 CR.HR.
