Examines formal and informal assessment of development in all children from birth to age eight. Emphasizes ecological approach, basing curriculum and teaching on comprehensive assessment. Topics include screening, referral, IEP and IFSP processes, disabilities, family involvement, culturally competent assessment. Identifies and addresses critical issues in assessment of young children. Prerequisite: HDV HDP 120/121 or HDP 124/125. Must be taken before EDP 456 & 457
