This course is designed to develop an understanding of teaching and learning in the early childhood classroom (Pre-K through 3). Planning, instruction and evaluation phases of teaching will be examined with a focus on the curriculum areas of math, science, health, art and movement. Curriculum frameworks, integrated curriculum methods and developmentally appropriate practices will be an integral part of the course. A minimum of 20 hours fieldwork is required, scheduled as a lab. A series of workshops in health, expressive arts, technology and the integrated curriculum will be held throughout the course. (Vicki L.
