This course is designed to develop a conceptualization of teaching and the role of the teacher in early childhood and elementary education settings (grades Pre-K-6). The planning, instruction and evaluation phases of teaching will be examined with a particular focus on the curriculum areas of math and science. A minimum of 20 hours of fieldwork is required, scheduled as a lab. A series of workshops in the arts, health, technology and MTEL test preparation complete the course. (Vicki L.
