An introduction to the concepts and issues in molecular evolution and the emerging field of molecular ecology. Course emphasizes the unique insights provided by the application of molecular methods to questions in ecology and evolution. Topics include rates and processes of molecular evolution, phylogenetic systematics, phylogeography, population genetics, forensics and conservation genetics.
