A detailed analysis of marine environments and the adaptations of animals to marine habitats. Topics include physical oceanography, life in flowing fluids and physiological adaptations to the marine environments. Lecture, laboratory and mandatory field trips are tightly integrated and culminate in completion of an individually chosen, collaborative research project.
