The molecular basis for biological processes. Synthesis, structure, function and regulation of the genome, transcriptome and proteome. A detailed examination of genome dynamics and the control and regulation of genome expression. Contemporary topics in biotechnology such as genetic engineering, cloning, molecular medicine, infectious diseases and biological weapons will also be discussed.
