Prerequisite: Enrollment in NECC program. This course involves working with children with special needs under the mentorship of a faculty advisor. Students study classroom techniques and procedures and write several concept papers or complete a critical review of the literature on a specific topic. Each student is assigned teaching responsibilities under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Students participate in a weekly seminar designed to raise issues and discuss topics relevant to the practicum experience. Course available only to students enrolled in the cooperative program at the New England Center for Children. (Approximately 28 inclass hours plus 462 hours of classroom observation and teaching. 12 cr.
