A detailed examination of the causes and mechanisms of evolution. This course emphasizes the major concepts of modern evolutionary biology by exploring contemporary issues. Topics include the basics of evolutionary genetics, natural selection, adaptation, speciation, the origins of biological diversity, evolution in modern society and the conflict between evolution and creationism.
