Prerequisite: PSY 313 and junior psychology standing or permission of the chair. This is an examination of the development of modern behaviorism and cognitive psychology as the two dominant paradigms in modern psychology. Topics include scientific methodology, the role of scientific explanation in psychology, the study of verbal behavior and creativity, and applications of these paradigms to the development of educational, social, and cultural systems. 3 cr.
