Prerequisite: IT 230 and IT 250, or permission of instructor. Over the past decade, organizations have increased their dependence on networks for core business processes. Due to the fact that many organizations are allowing their employees to have remote access to the company's network via virtual private networks (VPNs), network security has become very critical. This course teaches students how to secure a network (small or large) by focusing on understanding of the policies, products, and expertise that helps organizations to deal with the network security topic. 3 cr.
