This course combines social work professional knowledge, values, and skills that relate to community organization and the promotion of social justice with psychological and sociological explanations of why some people choose to act in the face of oppression, while others become bystanders, victims, or collaborate with the aggressor. The course will be taught using films based on true stories of people who took action to combat oppression. 3 cr.
