Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing. Corequisite for IE students: IE 439. This course studies the use of conceptual, analytical, and systems approaches in managing engineering projects and activities. Major topics are development and writing project plans including project proposals, project scopes, work breakdown structures, network diagrams, project schedules, and presentations. Other topics include the people side of engineering and project management, communication, and documentation. An industrial project is required. 3 cr.
