Prerequisite: FIN 214, EC 111 and EC 112. This course studies the institutions and markets that raise and allocate funds in modern economies in the context of interest rate determination and risk allocation. Key outcomes include the ability to use duration to manage fixed income financial instruments including their derivatives, and an understanding of the management of financial intermediaries in the contemporary regulatory environment. Offered in the fall semester. 3 cr.
