Prerequisite: CJ 101, and FB or FC major or permission. This course introduces students to the criminalistics concepts of crime scene procedures, techniques, and reconstruction pattern analysis. Even though this course is designed for students who have little or no science background, basic scientific measurements will assist in understanding the methods behind forensic science and its application to the legal system. Usually associated with law enforcement, the forensic scientist plays an increasingly active role in the civil and criminal justice arenas. 3 cr.
