Prerequisite: SO 101 and any 200 level Sociology course or junior standing. This course explores the world of work from a practical perspective. Students will prepare themselves for careers of their choosing. They will learn how to research careers in depth, prepare effective résumés and coverletters, and use sociological methods to develop viable careers for themselves. In addition, the course explores substantive sociological issues in the world of work and helps students develop their skills of analysis, reasoning, and understanding of a fast changing environment. 3 cr.
