Prerequisite: BIS 102 and MATH 112. This is a comprehensive introduction to the use of statistics in business decisionmaking. This course provides the analytical tools needed for making informed business decisions using data. The focus is on decisionmaking using the tools of statistics. Topics include graphical and numerical summaries of data, probability distributions; hypothesis tests of mean and proportion, and simple linear regression. The use of computing tools in statistical analysis is emphasized heavily. Credit for both this course and MATH 120 is not permissible. 3 cr. Laboratory fee $50.
