Components and systems that make up a FMS will be studied, including automated guided vehicles, automatic storage and retreival systems, material handling equipment, automated quality control, and tool management equipment. Using the principles of design for manufacture and group technology, students will complete a project utilizing an existing flexible manufacturing cell. Prerequisite: MANF500 Applied Robotics.
