Part One of a course which studies the development of artistic expressions in painting, sculpture, and architecture from prehistoric cave painting to the end of the Middle Ages. The relationship between art and culture will be studied, with particular attention to cultural, philosophical, religious, and political influences. Prerequisite (Day): Successful completion of an English sequence; Prerequisite (ACPE): ENGL105 and COMM200 or ENGL105 and ENGL116. Day Course.
